Grave of the Fireflies (How can you not cry for the whole movie?)
The end of mahoromatic, Season 2 (Can GAINAX ever make an anime with a happy ending?)
So, have you ever wept at an anime?
Mahoromatic, Season Two, episode 13. I didn't cry, but i did tear up.
As to the GAINAX question, I would have to say no. Not even This Ugly Yet Beautiful World ended "right". OK, it is probably more in line with reality, but damn, damn, damn!
And Matthew could have saved Mahoro! Ask the right questions! (I did a fanfic where mahoro was saved)
BTW, I am 53 and not an easy cryer, either, but i have avoided "Graveyard" for your very reasons
