Is Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood a “Remake” of Full Metal Alchemist?
by admin on Oct.08, 2009, under manga
Full Metal Alchemist has become a hit anime series in Japan back in 2003 when it was first adapted from the manga of the same title, “Fullmetal Alchemist” or “Hagane no Renkinjutsushi” in Japanese, originally created by Hiromu Arakawa, with art and story both by the mangaka. The anime then repeated the same kind of reception and success when it was brought to the States by Funimation in 2006. Full Metal Alchemist also received good reception in other countries across the world.
When “Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood” (some called it “Full Metal Alchemist Shintetsu”) was announced by Bones Studio, it excited many Full Metal Alchemist fans across the world. April 5th, 2009 was when Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood first premiered on Japanese TV, TV Tokyo. US fans can also follow the series from Funimation’s official website. In addition to that, a few independent websites made by fans provide Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood episodes download for free, truly for the intention of sharing the same excitement all fans have for Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood.
Though, for some fans who have started following Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood episodes from episode 1, confusion started to arise. Questions like “why is Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood story just the same as to the original Full Metal Alchemist?” or “is Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood a remake of Full Metal Alchemist?” starting to arise. Some fans just merely confused of what timeline should Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood follow parallel to the first Full Metal Alchemist.
The answer is, Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood started “all over again” and is “completely independent” of the first Full Metal Alchemist. So is it a complete “remake” of the first Full Metal Alchemist? No. Not exactly. The original plan of Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood is to make it start as what the manga has and end also as to what the manga will. So basicly Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood will just follow the original manga storyline, regardless of what the first anime adaptation of Full Metal Alchemist has explored to.
As opposed to Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood, the first Full Metal Alchemist had first followed the manga storyline, but strayed off to “its own storyline” when it got ahead of the manga halfway of its story. This happened because as you know it, manga chapter is out on weekly basis, and it is very limited to what each single chapter can cover weekly. On the other hand, anime episode is also out weekly, but with over 20 minutes of animation, an anime episode can cover much more than what a manga chapter can. In result, Full Metal Alchemist anime got ahead of the manga halfway of its story. With no story to follow from the manga anymore, it developed its own story all the way through the ending.
As what you saw on Full Metal Alchemist, the story ended with Edward Elric and Alphonse Elric both continued their journey on “our” world, sealing “the door” to their own world completely. This was shown on the movie: Conqueror of Shambala instead of the final episode, episode 51.
In Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood, what you can be sure of, is you “will not” see this ending again. Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood will end differently. Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood will end the way the manga will.

When are the new Inuyasha episodes coming to US?
by admin on Sep.28, 2009, under inuyasha
I read online that the series Inuyasha will be continued with new episodes starting in October, but does this mean it will only be starting in Japan in October? Or will it also be shown in the US at the same time?
Yeah it’s gonna take a long time for it to reach the US, which sucks, I’ve been waiting for inuyasha to continue back for so many years, now its come back, but we have to wait another year, hopefully less. Can’t wait till we can see it too, it will be so awesome lol. I hope it doesn’t take long…
Has anyone heard about the new Ranma?
by admin on Sep.21, 2009, under ranma
I just saw the new episode for ranma 1/2 and inuyasha, when are they going to come out in the US?
What you saw, I believe was actually an OVA specially done for Shonen Sunday’s 50th anniversary or the celebration of Rumiko Takahashi’s 30th anniversary in manga. It was released last year in a district in Japan and was really not released to the internet. There are places where you can watch it online, only not dubbed or dubbed very well. This website may help you out a bit.
If your an anime Otaku does tht mean your a geek ?!?
by admin on Sep.15, 2009, under otaku
xD the reason why i asked this cus i was watching an anime and on the bottom there was this ad tht says " Dating for anime fans :people like YOU are on geek 2 geek . Meet and date other geeks" lol !
Yeah that advert drives me insane! Everytime I go on MAL it’s like "people like you" as I’m diseased T____T
Otaku’s and anime fans are different things. I’ll probably get thumbs down but I resent people who call themselves Otaku’s because they wouldn’t call themself an otaku if they realised how they were insulting themselves. You will tend to find most people who call themselves otaku are not really Otaku (otaku’s are slightly less extreme than Hikkikomori but will spend a lot of money and time on anime more than general living… Basically obsessed with anime) and to be called an otaku in Japan is considered heavily insulting.
"In general colloquial usage however, most Japanese would consider it undesirable to be described in a serious fashion as "otaku"; many even consider it to be a genuine insult." (from Wikipedia)
Being an anime fan like me though, doesn’t mean I’m a geek, just means I have an interest xP. I have watched loads now (200+ series) and read loads of manga, but I know that I’m not a geek just because I watch it since I don’t let it take priority in my life like otaku’s do. Considering my boyfriend isn’t an anime fan (though I’m on a mission to change his bias) it proves that I’m not going to end up dating some "geek" just because I like anime. It is unfortunate that in society the words geek + anime seemed to be inseparable apart from by people who actually like anime and manga.
I guess it depends on how you interpret the misconception of the definition of otaku, in western society it now means a hardcore anime fan so to speak, I guess they are not geeks, but I do wish they’d realise what they are doing when they call themselves otaku (like atleast wikipedia the definition so they don’t sit back and insult themselves to Japanese people.).
Why do weeaboo destroy otaku lifestyle and culture.?
by admin on Sep.14, 2009, under otaku
In the 90s anime fandom was about watching anime playing games and discussing these forms of media but now that these weeaboo are rampant when we find an anime fan all they want to talk about is japan or something asian yet they claim to be otaku when really they are just japanophiles. why do they do this and why does it happen?

When is Inuyasha The Final Act supposed to be aired in the United States?
by admin on Sep.14, 2009, under inuyasha
Im really excited about the new inuyasha series, so excited that i cant stand to wait for it. Does anybody know when its supposed to be aired in the US or at least around what time?
Well, Viz Media has acquired the series, and it airs in Japan this fall (is supposed to). Although I’m not familiar with how the industry works, I’d say it’ll be a year from now. That’s my rough guess.
