It really ticks me off! As does the lack of kissing in inuyasha! Does anime have something against lip locking main characters?
I’m referring to Hitomi and Van not kissing… even though they admit they love each other and need each other and are strongest together. She goes back without so much as a kiss on the cheek!!!

There’s 5.. err 6 kisses in Escaflowne.

* Allen early in the series when he kisses Hitomi so that Dilandau would stop looking at Van (and discover who Van really is).

* Dryden kisses a mermaid babe (a glass panel was in the way, but we can all assume it counts as a kiss) when he is first introduced in the series.

* Allen kisses Millerna (quite passionately) before he flees Austuria around episode 10.
* Millerna and Dryden when they get married.

* Allen kisses Hitomi.. again because Folken was using a machine to manipuate them; but damn the scene is so romantic.

* Folken at the same time kisses Eriya using a fate controlling machine to control Hitomi and Allen’s movements.
* My memory of later episodes is fuzzy today, but I think Allen kisses Hitomi a third time when he tells her he wants them to get married after the war ends in episode 23.

Naria is about to kiss Eriya in a scene out of envy because Eriya was able to kiss Folken a few episodes before.

That’s sure a lot of kisses with a lot of characters for a shounen series.

Damn, Folken is pretty damn lucky for having two superhot babes willing to share him. Damn, that last pic in particular; I’d sure be blushing like Eriya if I was about to kiss such a damn hawt guy.

Yeah, I do agree on the Hitomi never kissing Van part. They don’t even kiss in the movie. >_< Such a shame. I also don’t get why would she want to return to her life in Japan just being another ordinary student when she could become a queen. Stoopid.

Heck, she could have married Allen and lived a good life as the wife of a military hero.

I’m looking for an epic fantasy romance anime something like the vision of escaflowne please please help me because I was hooked on its story line and i think i watched all the episodes + plus the movie twice I want to find a new anime HELPP! SOS!

There are several epic fantasy anime series with some romance thrown in. Here’s a few I highly recommend checking out. All come complete with girls going into other worlds & undergoing an adventure with hints of romance.

Fushigi Yuugi – 2 friends wind up in the land of the 4 Gods where they become priestesses of 2 of the Gods complete with 7 celestial warriors apiece. This anime has great plot, memorable characters, adventure, romance, humor, etc. It’s also a rollercoaster of emotions so be prepared.

12 Kingdoms – Somewhat similar to Fushigi Yuugi, only entirely different. Based off of novels it has a well developed plot, it’s told from several points of view. However there is less romance in this one.

Magic Knights Rayearth – About 3 girls who wind up in the land of Cephiro and have to save the land. Has great characters, great twists, & even comes complete with the mecha element.

Revolutionary Girl Utena – About a girl that goes to an academy with many secrets, it’s own system of rules, etc. Great series with a plot like no other, contains plenty of swordfighting along with memorable characters & humor. It also has a few controversial elements like gender bending, etc.

You also may want to check out Scrapped Princess, another enjoyable fantasy anime watch.
