Man this series seems to be a total let down for me… can u imagine they actually repeated 3 entire episodes with slight changes here and there but with no actual progress in the endless eight arc??!!!
Are the producers insane or just trying to lengthen the series with dumb useless episodes??

Is there really a new season of “the melancholy of haruhi suzumiya” this coming april 2009?
I want a new season so badly! I want new episodes, I can hear the cries of millions of otakus.

It was supposed to, but unfortunately, it was a prank.
The actual new season will come with 28 episodes or more or less.
There's no news of when it's out yet.

As of right now there is no second season of Haruhi and none are currently planed.
If you like the plot and are interested in reading it, Yes Press ( http://www.yenpress.com ) is releasing the original story in English. The original consisted of 9 light novels. Book one is already released, and book two is due out in October.

The second was SUPPOSED to come out a while ago, but it turned out to be a prank….so I'm not so sure about this time.
I want a second season, but I won't get my hopes high that much, so I won't be disappointed. >.<
